About SafeSend Gather
HOW TO USE SAFESEND GATHER
BGM uses an electronic delivery system for tax organizers called Safesend Gather. Safesend Gather allows qualifying clients to complete their tax organizer and upload the necessary documents. Then, Safesend Gather automatically and securely sends the tax organizer and documents back to BGM.
The process is easy. Here’s how it works:
- You’ll receive an email from BGM with a from address of noreply@safesendreturns.com or noreply@safesend.com.
- The email will contain a Let’s Get Started button for you to access your tax organizer.
- Then, you’ll be asked to verify your identity and click the Send the Code button.
- SafeSend will email you a 6 or 8 digit access code to further verify your identity. Check your spam or junk folders if you don’t see it in your inbox.
- Once the access code is confirmed, you’ll be proceeded to the Welcome Page. Click Get Started once you have reviewed the steps and message from BGM.
- Click the Start arrow to begin reviewing the letters and sign once ready.
- Signing can only be skipped or declined if the signature is not required by your tax firm. If there are fillable fields other than a signature block, those fields must be completed before you can continue.
- For married filing joint requests, you can skip signing the spouse’s signature and enter their email address to notify them to sign.
- For individual requests, you can decline to sign.
- When you’re ready to start the Organizer, you can use the Bookmarks Panel to move to specific pages and scroll or utilize the navigation arrows to move through the organizer pages. Type into the green fillable fields and provide additional information in the Notes to Preparer box. Click Save to apply that note to that page.
- Upload source documents with the Click Here to Upload button. This option will only appear on pages that have the paper clip icon in the bookmarks panel.
- Click Save & Close to save your progress and continue later or click Next to mark your organizer as complete.
- After you click Next, a pop-up notification appears to confirm the organizer is complete.
- If a spouse was not included on the Organizer, the following options will appear:
- Click Review Missing Information if the Organizer is not complete.
- Click Finish if the organizer is complete.
- If a spouse was included on the Organizer, the follow options will appear:
- Click Send for Review if you would like to send the organizer to your spouse for review.
- Click Complete Organizer if the Organizer is complete.
- If a spouse was not included on the Organizer, the following options will appear:
- After completing the Organizer, you may be directed to Upload documents. A list of requested files is displayed to help you determine what documents are needed. After the documents are uploaded, the Gather AI software recognizes and categorizes the documents.
- You can drag/drop or click Choose File to upload. Files will be marked as Uncategorized until the engine is able to categorize the document. Once they become recognized, a green check mark will be added to the requested file.
- You can upload .pdf, .doc, .xls, .txt, .png and .jpeg files.
- File names must be 200 characters or less.
- Encrypted or password-protected documents should not be uploaded and cannot be previewed.
- Documents that are not recognized will be put in the Uncategorized section where you can manually categorize the document(s).
- Click NA next to a file request to mark as Not Applicable. Click Undo NA to reactivate the file request.
- Click Save & Close to continue later or Finish to mark the upload process as complete.
- Once you click Finish, your BGM professional will be notified and will begin processing your information.
Please note organizers can’t be completed on a mobile device, you must use a desktop computer. Only signing engagement letters and uploading source documents are supported.

What if I don’t receive an email with my access code?
Check your spam or junk email folders. If you don’t enter the code within the 20-minute time limit, request another.
Can I fill out my organizer on a phone?
Organizers can’t be completed on a mobile device, you must use a desktop computer. Only signing engagement letters and uploading source documents are supported.

What type of file types are supported?
You can upload .pdf, .doc, .xls, .txt, .png and .jpeg files. File names must be 200 characters or less. Encrypted or password-protected documents should not be uploaded and cannot be previewed.
Can I edit my organizer after it’s been submitted as complete?
Yes, you will have to notify BGM to reopen your organizer.
Why are the options to Get Started, sign, and fill grayed out?
This indicates your spouse must sign the engagement letter before you can continue.
