Boeckermann Grafstrom & Mayer Hosts 2019 Summer Experience Program
Boeckermann Grafstrom & Mayer (BGM) recently welcomed 13 accounting students from regional colleges and universities who were selected to participate in the firm’s 2019 Summer Experience Program.
The day-long program, which was hosted in the firm’s Bloomington office, provided students the opportunity to learn about life at BGM, and partake in job shadowing opportunities, panel discussions, firm leadership presentations, and a variety of team building and networking events. At the end of the day students completed surveys to share their feedback on the program and to express interest in a possible future internship.
“The Summer Experience Program gives students a chance to explore their interest in a career in public accounting, ask lots of questions, and gain access to developmental resources,” said Kathy Knipp, BGM’s Human Resources Manager.
To be eligible to participate in the program, students must be pursuing a B.A. in Accounting, of sophomore or junior status with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be interested and eligible for an internship during the upcoming tax season. Students are selected to participate through BGM’s various campus recruitment initiatives each fall and spring semester; invitations are extended to exemplary individuals who encompass the firm’s core values.
